Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are certainly a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there must be something that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or perhaps a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your life as it appears to be in this world when it comes to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who is my source?” So whenever we discuss the last stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon most of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to creating a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. A good wind comes along and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. a course in miracles books It’s so transitory; It had been this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; dozens of items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It certainly comes down seriously to the essence of who’s my buddy? Could it be Spirit or matter? Could it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this one?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will highlight is that everything is mental and that everything is just a hallucination. This is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the connection between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I’ve given everything I see all this is it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s referring to thoughts. First He’s referring to perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You will see he’s wanting to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, which is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us they are all illusions and they are all equally meaningless. That’s exactly the approach to operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all kinds of things. What type of things would you spend money on, in this world?
